It gives us a great pleasure to inform you that Serbian Association of Agricultural Journalists AGROPRESS is organizing the second workshop for foreign journalists covering agriculture, Balkan Tour 2012 – Serbia, May 14-19, 2012. After a good experience for both participants and organizers during the first workshop held in May 2011, AGROPRESS’ team hopes to improve and enrich the offer, so that everyone gets to taste a genuine Serbia.

The main purpose of this workshop is to present agricultural aspects of Serbia to the World, as well as to promote and highlight potentials of companies and individuals dealing with agricultural production in Serbia. In addition, throughout various visits to the companies’ production plant and headquarters, it is planed to inform and familiarize journalists with Serbian brands.

The importance of promoting agricultural aspects of Serbia beyond country borders is related to growing intention to increase export volume and investments in agriculture – the sector which traditionally makes trade surplus and ensures stability of the Serbian economy. Agricultural export of the Republic of Serbia for 2010 overpasses 3 billion dollars.

The program of the Tour has its focus on informing participants about agricultural aspects and potentials of Serbia through different activities. This Tour also represents a good opportunity to take a closer look into the development of Serbian rural tourism, tradition and culture.

Term: May 14 – 19, 2012

Location: Belgrade, Novi Sad, Valjevo

Number of participants - journalists: 50 (number of participants increases every 10 newly registered)

Participation fee: 300 EUR per person.

Official Tour language: English.

Traveling expenses, food and accommodation during the program, from the arrival at the hotel on May 14th until the departure from the hotel on May 19th will be covered by the participation fee. Traveling expenses to and from Serbia, as well as additional expenses ARE NOT included.

Extended staying and additional tours are optional, upon request. If you wish to reserve staying at the same Belgrade hotel a few days before or after the Tour, you can let us know and we will help you with that.

Rooms: Double room includes a queen size bad. Twin room includes a two single beds. Triple rooms are large size rooms with three beds. Each room comes equipped with a bathroom, cable TV, telephone, safe-box, WiFi free of charge and a mini bar.
